I have described the pictures below which show the many activities we had. From the door of our apartment we were close enough to bring over any excess scones for an addition to the nightly snack – always enjoyed by Sophie A. Margaret added her great culinary skills and made pickles from produce from Ruby’s garden. Charlotte G., makes apple crisp at Ruby’s. I decorated our new “office”- in the fire escape – and made it quite cosy for the students to check in with us. I used to enjoy our many chats especially with Elizabeth and Nadine. Charlotte G., Megan K., and Marie IDL., were all dressed up for class night. Charlotte, Sophie, Jules B., Megan, Nadine K., Mikayla A., and Elizabeth D B., enjoy apple crisp and ice cream. Sammy P., carved pumpkin with others at Ruby and Vlads. Mikayla and Elizabeth hang out together and when they were together there was always laughter. Sammy – one of our visual artists – looked great for halloween. Mikayla A. and Maria would come over for tea or to make pancakes. The theme that our Dorm president Nadine choose was “The star Dorm” and the dorm made a really nice flag. The holidays were very festive and we all made stockings to hang on the door for any Elfie gifts. There is not a picture of Susa B., but she can be seen wearing a lovely blue dress on the elfie page. Susa used her WFMA talents and put together a little video of my grandchildren for me – great job. Sammy made a teapot and cups “Out of this world” for an Elfie gift. This was the year that I got one of my “Best Christmas Presents.” Every time I watch this video it makes me smile and fills my heart with Joy.
Such innovation and fun. Santa flew amongst the Stars in outer space. The girls discover that Margaret is a great cook. Maria gets to celebrate ¡Ya Vienen Los Reyes Magos! on Jan 6th. We enjoyed celebrating traditions from Mexico with Maria and discussions around music. We have an egg hunt in the dorm and Nadine tries on the Bunny costume. Maria, Megan and friends come to our apartment and make us a Korean dinner. Sophie enjoys a mug cake with all the trimmings. Charlotte gets into Spring cleaning. Mr Reid used to comment on all of her “sculptures” around her room. Sammy and Jules also enjoy mug cakes. Roommates Charlotte and Angel who joined us second semester share some food together. Ruby finished her Master’s degree and the students wrote good wishes for her and Margaret and I bought a cake and flowers for a little party. A very special picture is next – it was framed and given to Mr Reid and me by Anthony R. It was a drawing that he made while a student in New Cottage and now hangs in Mr Reid’s study in our new apartment. Prom arrives and quite a few of our students attend. At the end of the year at our awards night we also celebrated some birthdays that were in the summer. The last picture is of two very special friends Sophie and Jules. Always together chatting or cooking or hanging out with friends. They sang a song accompanied by Maria which always touches me every time I watch it.
This was New Cottage.
