New Cottage dorm pictured outside the Reid’s Apt. Cooper J., Morgan B., Michael T., Bailey M., Matt C., Matt C., Sam W., Eric H., Alex D., KP D., Jason C., Zach Z., Spencer D., Mr. Reid, Ashley and Mrs. Reid holding her granddaughter Isabella. New demolition around New Cottage. We now have gas heat and the chimney and old boiler room are no longer needed. A new building is made on that footprint for Theater props and ultimately will be the permanent home for WFMA. I really liked how Spencer and Michael cleaned their rooms for room check and also how tidy Jason kept his socks. Halloween was once again lots of fun as students would come in and have their pictures taken and receive candy. My Space and Facebook were starting and students were learning the etiquette required. Nice time at the holiday dinner – very proud of “my boys.” Missed Zach at our Elfie reveal. Bailey holds Zach’s Burberry boot in absentia. We won 3rd place in the window painting with the theme “Live the Dream.” Santa on holiday in Florida! Many years later one of the students from this year would help me to “see my dream fulfilled.” Points of interest – Morgan studying hard – dorm parents Valentine’s Tea – Sam finds “Baby Jesus” in our King cake baked for Mardi Gras – great senior page picture of Mark McC, loved it. Quote from Ms Thielke used on Teddy W’s senior page “That is German butt slapping music.”, also from Ben Zander “How fascinating.” North House Sumo events were great. Lots of former New Cottage alumni graduated and also Garrett M., who returned to work in Director of Alumni Giving and Engagement. We were sad to say goodbye to Ellen Sears and the dorm parents had a farewell party and gave her a Tea Package with tea, cup etc. Loved the creation sewn by Zach – yes boys can sew. It contained a lovely quote to end with “Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.”
