This was a year of trying to understand the psyche of some of our students!! It was however beyond my comprehension so instead I decided to make meals and invite them in as a group to try to form a community.
Karl M., was our faithful dorm parent and Todd G., was a super helpful student. We so enjoyed Mizuho S. who gave a creative and well remembered senior recital. Many years later I still have his signed photograph which he gave us – see below. Napporn S., was also a senior and was most creative in a senior sculpture in the hallway and also his picture in the yearbook. My second row shows some people you will remember . The Math Dept. Mr. Reid, Mrs. Murphy, and Mrs. Buschenfeld. Mrs Murphy is still teaching Math in 2019!! Center picture you will recognize many of your teachers.The one I like best is the Housekeeping staff – Leila Dejesus – second from the right – is still working at the school and deserves much praise and thanks for her dedicated work. During this year we helped a student and his mom move house and also Mr. Reid made many trips to Newton to help out a student. Just part of being “parents”. Sorry to have missed our dorm photo showing others in the dorm. Many years later I noted that some students not mentioned had made a very notable career. I am so glad that they turned around and I wish them all the best. This was the year that I brought in the Holy water and there was never another year like this in our 38 year career .
